Getting Here

Orcas is one of four Islands in the in the San Juan archipelago that are served by the Washington State Ferry System (1-800-84-Ferry). There are 8-10 daily departures and the ferry from Orcas also provides you with easy access to Victoria, B.C. or to the other San Juan Islands for day trips. Also, you can fly to Orcas Island on a Kenmore Air sea-plane. See below for links to other travel and transportation information.

Driving Directions to Orcas Island:

To Orcas Island: Go North on I-5 from Seattle to Mount Vernon. Take the exit marked Anacortes/San Juan Islands just past Mt. Vernon. In Anacortes follow the signs to the ferry terminal. It is best to arrive well ahead of the scheduled departure time.

Driving Directions to Bayside Cottages:

When you get off the ferry follow the main road to Eastsound Village & through Moran State park towards Olga. At the bottom of the hill by the Olga Cafe/Artworks turn left & go past Buck Bay 1/4 mile. Go right at the “Y” in the road toward Obstruction Pass. After the power substation go past three wide curves in the road until you see a road sign for Willis Lane. Turn left onto the gravel road & turn left again at the first driveway on the left. This drive takes you to the main house and office. It is a large grey house with red front doors.

Public Transportation

Orcas Island Shuttle bus service offers scheduled service from the Orcas Island Ferry Terminal to Bayside Cottages and Obstruction Pass or anywhere along the way from April 30th through October 3rd. The fare is $5 per person each way and the bus runs five or six times per day to and from the ferry (see schedule). The Shuttle Bus will drop you off and pick you up at the corner of Willis Lane, a short walk from Bayside Cottages. The Orcas Island Shuttle offers an inexpensive alternative for those who would rather not bring a car to Orcas Island.
